BEST WEEKEND EVER...

What a great weekend...we had family and friends at our home for a great meal cooked in my dutch oven on Saturday. We had Craig's wonderful chili, cornbread and hot dogs over the fire. Talk about FUN!!!! It was so fun to sit around the fire and enjoy a few beverages, talk, and laugh with our family and friends. Uncle Dave was a riot (we all laughed at his many stories). Scott rolled over the hill in his chair (good for another big laugh). Keith and Robin were the last to leave and I had all (for the most part) cleaned up by 2:00 a.m. I would sit around the fire every weekend...we have so much fun!!

Brooke went school clothes shopping on Sunday...She ended up with all tops (10). All the same colors...navy blue, white, and grey. She's happy...So I'm happy. We still need to pick up some jeans and some other supplies...but for the most part she's ready for the big Senior year...Ohmygosh...my baby is going to be a Senior in high school.

The Marshall Co. Fair one more thing

I forgot to mention the pageant...Brooke was voted most photogenic and won 4th runner-up. She looked beautiful and did a wonderful job. We got to look at her score sheets...and the one negative comment she received was "needs more eye contact" during the interview process. She really enjoyed participating and I think learned things that she will be able to use in areas of her life. She says she going to enter next year! YAY Brooke...GREAT JOB!!

The Marshall Co. Fair

We survived the fair. The weather was great and Brooke did very well with both her Market Hog and Market Steer. My nephew Tye (4yrs) had such a fun time, I think he enjoyed every minute of the week. Craig was a great help in getting all the stuff ready and moved into the fair. He didn't get to help bring all the stuff home...He was in Louisville moving his brother and sister-in-law back to WV!! WELCOME HOME Kevin and Ella...I'm so glad they are back! Work is busy...Home is busy...Life is busy...I really can't wait for August to be over! Brooke is getting a new (used) car, she is so excited and I'm excited for her...I'll make that my next post!

Fun on the 4th

We had a great 4th of July. Several friends and family attended the 3rd annual Craig and Kevin Firework display. We all gathered around 5:30 p.m. for some really great food on the grill (yum, I love to cook-out). With the rain moving out and the arrival of dark (about 9:30p.m.) Craig and Kevin began the wonderful firework display. It is so fun to watch the two of them, they are like a couple of kids...they have a blast (hehe)! I think next year they are going to move the show to the hill beside our house...so, all of Limestone should be able to see the fireworks.

July is always a busy month...we are getting ready for the Marshall County Fair. Brooke is spending all her extra time in the barn...her schedule isn't busy enough with market animals, work, cheerleading practice, and softball games...she has decided to participate in the Queen pageant at the fair, so she now has pageant practice on Monday's and Wednesday's at 7.
